Ingredients
- 1 cup urad dal
- 1 tsp fenugreek seeds
- 2 cup ration rice
- 1 cup poha
- Salt need to test
Method
- Wash urad dal well 2-3times with watter and fenugreek seeds and soak it together in enough water for 4 to 5 hours.
- Wash ration rice and poha together 2-3 times well with clean watter and soak enough water for 4-5 hours.
- Blend soak dal with some water in blender blend up to fine past and transfer it in to pot.
- Blend sok rice and poha with water in blender in to coarse past and transfer the this past into the pot mix everything well together.
- Cover and let it ferment for about overnight.
- Add solt and mix well carefully.
- Grease the idly molds with oil and transfer the better into each mold.
- You can you see butter or ghee for greasing in place of oil.
- Heat up water at the base of thae steamer and trancefer the idli molds into it.
- Close the lid and steam the idly on medium heat for about 10-10 minutes.
- If you overcook the idly then it will lose its soft texture .
- After steem idly in medium heat for 12 minutes check it with knife.
- If it comes out clean then the idly is cooked well.
- Take the idli out and let them cool down for about 5 minutes.
- Take the idli out with the help of knife or spoon.
- You can serve it with samber.
